LIVING WITH FOOD ALLERGIES

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is studying a food allergy process both on a cellular level and in patients. Physicians may consult NIAID researchers about a particular patient and, if the patient’s medical history fits the profile of an NIAID study, he or she may be accepted as a study patient. NIAID also funds allergy researchers in medical centers throughout the United States.
